Virtual server recovery

You can lose access to your VPS for multiple reasons.

Make sure the server is powered on. You can do it from the Power tab of your server in control panel.

You can lose access to the server with Remote desktop or SSH due to networking issues.
In this case, try using our built in Web console to access your server. You can find the console in your virtual server properties page in our control panel.

If your login information is incorrect you can try to recover the default password from the recovery tab of your VPS in our control panel.

If you can access the server with Web console but it is not responding or you cannot restore the password, most likely the server's operating system is corrupted.

There are several recovery options available:

  • Server re-image. This will overwrite your server with the clean operating system. All data will be lost. You can do it from the recovery tab of your VPS.
  • Restore from backup. We perform daily server backups and keep the backups for last 7 days.
    If you want to restore the server, contact the customer support specifying the date of backup you want to restore.
  • Server re-image with attachment of old disk. Our technician will re-image the server for you and attach the old disk drive temporarily. This disk will have the latest data and you will be able to copy it to the new disk. We charge $30 fee for this operation because it is a manual operation.
