Free certificate orders
Navigate to: Main Menu > SSL Certificates > Click the Free certificate orders tab.
This section allows you to generate and manage free SSL certificates provided by the Let's Encrypt certification authority. These certificates are globally trusted and compatible with all major browsers, but they have a short validity period of 3 months.
The Orders List
This grid tracks the lifecycle of your free certificates. The Status column is particularly important, as it indicates whether a certificate is active, expired, or pending generation.
Actions:
- Renew: Manually triggers the renewal process. If you do not have automatic renewal enabled, you must click this button every 3 months to keep your site secure.
- Delete: Removes the order from the system and stops any future renewal attempts.
Creating a New Order
Click the CREATE ORDER FOR FREE CERTIFICATE button to open the request form.
- Domain name: Select the domain you wish to secure from the dropdown list.
- Wildcard: Toggle this option to generate a wildcard certificate (e.g.,
*.yoursite.com), which secures the main domain and all its subdomains.
- Organization Details: Fill in your entity's information (Organization, City, Country, etc.).
- Renew certificate automatically:
If enabled, our system will attempt to renew the certificate before it expires. Note: Automatic renewal is typically available only for domains associated with paid hosting accounts. Free accounts may need to renew manually.
The Process
Once you click CREATE, it usually takes 1 to 30 minutes for the system to validate your domain ownership and generate the files. Once completed:
- The new certificate will appear in your List of certificates tab.
- The system will attempt to automatically update your website's bindings to use the new SSL certificate.
