Support Scope for Self-Managed Virtual Servers
Our "Self-Managed" Virtual Servers (VPS) provide you with full administrative control and root access. This offers maximum flexibility but means the responsibility for maintaining the server is shared between the provider (us) and the administrator (you).
The Shared Responsibility Model
- Our Responsibility (Infrastructure): We guarantee the stability of the physical hardware, power, internet connectivity, and the Hypervisor platform. We ensure the server is "turned on" and connected to the network.
- Your Responsibility (Software & OS): You are responsible for the internal health of the Operating System. This includes configuration, software installation, security updates, firewall management, and recovering from virus infections or software crashes.
What if my server becomes unresponsive?
Since this is a self-managed service, it is your responsibility to diagnose and fix internal OS issues. However, we provide a suite of automated tools in the control panel to help you regain access.
If you cannot connect to your server via Remote Desktop or SSH, please follow our step-by-step Troubleshooting and Recovery Guide.
Data Recovery Services
If your operating system is corrupted beyond repair, our support team offers specific recovery services:
- Snapshot Restore (Free): We keep 7 days of daily backups. We can revert your entire server to a previous state upon request.
- Data Rescue ($30 Fee): If you need to recover specific files from a dead OS without reverting the whole server, our engineers can perform a manual "Disk Attachment" procedure to help you copy your data to a fresh installation.
