Virtual server power control
Navigate to: Main Menu > Virtual servers > Select a server > Click the Power tab.
This section allows you to control the power state of your virtual machine, similar to pressing the physical buttons on a computer case.
Power Actions
- HARD RESET (Immediate Reboot): Instantly restarts the server.
Warning: This is equivalent to pressing the reset button on a physical case. It does not shut down the operating system safely and may cause data corruption. Use this only if the server is frozen.
- SOFT RESET (Initiate OS Reboot): Sends a signal to the operating system to close running programs and restart gracefully. This is the recommended way to reboot.
- SOFT POWER DOWN (Initiate OS Shutdown): specific instructions to the operating system to shut down safely.
- POWER OFF: Instantly cuts power to the server. Use this if a "Soft Power Down" fails to stop the machine.
- POWER ON: Boots up the server. (This button is only active when the server is currently turned off).
Status Indicator: The text at the top of the page (e.g., "The server is powered on...") confirms the current state and whether the system agent is communicating correctly.
